Sneaky Shelves

I'm all about solving eye sore problems on the cheap. So, when I spied these shelves at a local thrift store I knew they were just the solution I needed! This little mirror was the other half of the solution to this problem on my living room wall:Talk about bare! This wall stumped me from the time we moved in. The thermostat panel threw things off balance & made it impossible to hang anything here without it looking horribly off balance.

But, a little painter's tape,
Some primer,Some paint,And some accessorizing, and you've got a pretty little display and not a hint of the panel to be found!See that little guy back there? Pretty nifty, don't you think?

Note: Plant & pot from Ikea, Wooden 'W' from Michaels, Candle from The Christmas Tree Shop, Mirror & white bowl from Goodwill.

well, well, well...you've done it again! I have an ugly outlet and cable jack over my fire place because the previous owners of my house had their TV installed over the mantle - you just gave me a great idea!

The new shelves look fantastic! Just the right addition to fill that wall space. Keep the projects coming... I love keeping track of everything you do. I'm going to make sure I apply some of your tips/projects to my house [once we secure one!] :)

Your makeovers look beautiful! I'm a big fan of any display including letters/alphabet/monograms - love it and so clever for hiding the panel!

I saw on Domestic Goddess that you dont know anything about The Junior League. There is a chapter in Portland Maine that I'm a member of. If you are near by let me know and I will send you info! We would love to have you!

I love it! I have some shelves I bought just sitting waiting for me to do paint them, and you inspired me to finish it up. Great job!
