Jute Wrapped Vase #2

This was the second take at a little collection I'm working on. You can see the first one here. I had a ton of vases left over from our wedding, and hadn't been able to sell them all of. So, I decided to try some jute out on one of them. Rather than doing the typical wrap-the-whole-thing method, I decided to leave a little space in between wraps, like so:

And yes, that's steam on the inside of the vase. I wandered out to the back yard at 9pm last night in the pouring rain to get those darn branches! The things I do for decor... And by the way, if you do this project, be prepared to spend at least an hour on the couch wrapping and gluing your jute. My husband brought me home the thin kind, so this proved to be a very tedious venture. When it's all said and done, though, I really like how it turned out & it fits right in with our living room.

Thanks for the linky love! :)

You know - I was at Joann Fabrics today and picked up the jute, thinking about your first vase. I put it back down (I was there for another project that was $$$). Now I regret it! I'll be going back - your vases are beautiful inspiration! ;)

I love this. I have seen the jute wrapped vase in a few places, but I think this one may just be my favorite take on it.
