Apartment Tour: The Living Room

Now that you all know about us moving, you can see why I'm not going to be able to finish the rooms in our apartment. So, I'm going to share what we've got with you.

{Apartment Tour Disclaimer: None of our rooms are finished yet (I don't believe any room ever is) but they've come a long way from when we first moved in here. Also, these photos aren't the best quality. I'm crossing my fingers for a DSLR for Christmas.. until then, this is as good as it's gonna get! :) Enjoy!}

First stop, the living room! Here's what it looked like about a month after we moved in (which also happened to be right before Christmas):

And.. Here's the other side:

A wee bit sad, eh? These pictures crack me up looking at them now. Oh, newlyweds! We had like no furniture. Everything there was either a hand-me-down or taken from Z's bachelor pad. Thank the LORD we didn't live that way for too long! :) Let's check out the (9 months later) AFTERS, shall we?

Anndd... there you have it! Honestly, I hate the entertainment center & it'll be going the way of yesterdays newspaper in the moving process, but it works for now. I love our new leather furniture. It was a compromise for Z & I. He wanted leather & quality. I wanted structure, form, & style. I'm not a fan of light-colored leather (in some cases I like white, but not in our home), so we got a dark brown number with great lines & added lots of lighter accents in the room.

Here's a list of the projects that went into this room:

Upholstered Arm Chair
Chevron Tray
Jute Wrapped Vase
Sneaky Shelves
"Window" Mirror
Painted Glass Vase
Custom Pillow Covers
Lacquered Coffee & End Tables

Kinda fun to see it all come together, huh?

Again, the BEFORE:

And, the AFTER:

what a difference! love the furniture! i think for now we are okay with the craigslist stuff we have, even though none of it matches. we will worry about that stuff when we buy a house someday. :)
