DIY Burlap Table Runner

Want a super easy way to add some yummy texture to any table top in your home? Then check out the steps I followed.

I purchased 2 yards of Burlap at Wal-Mart for something like $1.99/ yd.

I then cut a piece in the size I wanted for my coffee table. In my case, it was a little over a foot wide by a little over 3 feet long. That's right! Throw away that tape measure for this one! We're walking on the wild side and.. estimating!! (So I might have exaggerated that a bit, but you get the idea. Have fun.)

I kept the long sides trimmed & tidy, but gave the short ends a little more of a raw edge.

Then, to make it look a bit more pretty & less like I just slapped an old burlap sack in the middle of my living room, I added some simple white grossgrain ribbon.

Andd.. that's it! Throw it on the table & you're done! (doesn't it look pretty w/ the Chevron Tray?)

Just curious how you made a 3' long runner out of 2' of fabric without peicing it.

Anonymous- when you buy burlap, the yardage you're getting is actually folded over. So, when you unfold the fabric, you actually have more than 3' of length.
