Am I The Only One??

So.. am I the only one in blog-land that's not hyped up on Christmas decor yet?? Maybe it's just me, but I like to take my holidays one at a time. Right now I'm all about Thanksgiving. Then, about a week after Thanksgiving, I'll move on to Christmas decor & planning. It just seems odd to me to have a Christmas tree up when I'm eating my turkey and stuffing. Seems like it would just be confusing which holiday I was supposed to be celebrating.

I don't know. Is it just me? Anyone else happen to feel the same way?

I am wondering the same thing! Most of my friends already have the lights out and even trees!!!!! I cannot get into the Christmas spirit until after a week after Thanksgiving! So I'm with you! I like to focus on one Holiday at a time... You're not alone :) Love your inspiration pics. Might use the table setting for Thursday...

I'll confess, I USED to feel the same way, but... my husband's family all come from out of town to stay with use for 4 days over Thanksgiving and they're not here at Christmas so... a few years ago I started decorating for Christmas before Thanksgiving so that we could all enjoy the tree, etc. when they were here. Not saying I'll always do it this way, but it's working for us right now. If I don't "talk" to you before I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I am with ya 100%! I'm working on some Christmas tutorials for my blog, but they certainly aren't displayed yet. I got so irritated when I walked into Target on November 1st and it was Christmas galore.

However, come Friday, I hope my DH realizes he's going to be up on the ladder hanging up my garlands. :) I guess I should go ahead and start reminding him...

Well... I had Thanksgiving dinner with some of my family a week ago. I live 4 hours south of my entire family, so when my mom came to visit she cooked some yummy dinner for us. Having said that, I usually do wait to put up Christmas decorations until after Thanksgiving Day... This year I've started a little early, but I've also already had my Thanksgiving dinner.

I know some people have special circumstances & need to decorate early. My friend's dad had surgery this week, so they got their tree down from the attic & all set up before he had surgery because he wouldn't have been able to do it otherwise. But I've never been in a situation like that so I am a firm believer of celebrating one holiday before decorating for another! I get sick of looking at all the decorations in the stores for months, so I can't imagine having it up in my home for more than a month.

My fall decorations are firmly planted at least until the Monday after Thanksgiving. I love Thanksgiving, it's not commercialized near as much as other holidays, just a good time to be had with family and friends.

Enjoy your non Christmas decorated week :)

I completely agree! I'm planning our Christmas decor, but Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday and no Christmas decorating until Thanksgiving has its day! ~K

Nope, not just you! I haven't even purchased a single Christmas gift yet. I'm still processing the fact that Thanksgiving is THIS WEEK. Where has the time gone? I hate wishing the days away...

Well - since our Thanksgiving is celebrated in October, I feel just fine moving on to Christmas :) But I agree with you, if I were celebrating Thanksgiving next week I would have a hard time thinking about Christmas already.

I'm with ya sister! I refuse to do anything Christmas related until Friday...REFUSE! I like to enjoy my fall decor while eating my turkey dinner. Save the Christmas decor until the Friday after IMO ;)
