Thanksgiving Decor

Well, since my last post was about how I'm still Thanksgiving-minded, I figured it only fitting that I give you a peek into what we're doing around here to get ready for it. For those of you who don't know, Z and I are living in my parents' basement 'apartment' right now while we're waiting to build our new house. We're closing on 55 acres of land soon, and will start work on the property in the spring. So, in the meantime, I'm helping my mom with projects here. My parents have a full eat-in kitchen as well as a formal dining room. So, I had to come up with two different centerpiece ideas.

I'm still editing each arrangements a little bit, so I'd love to hear your feedback on them. Each will have a burlap runner like this one, so try and picture them that way.

The first is a simple line up of pine cones, gourds, and candles. In the center, I bought some natural flower arrangement filler and circled it around a white pillar inside a simple glass vase.

To continue a little bit of pattern, I used the same white candlesticks. In the center, I placed a pretty little lantern and pine cones from our wedding atop my white cake stand.

This is the bay window in the dining room. I was going for a natural look this year with everything, and I think the textures here work pretty well.

A corner of the entryway console table houses my birch bark luminaries along with a few other accessories.

My mom has a fab bowl on the coffee table that I just threw some mini pumpkins and gourds in.

A few more touches and I think we'll be just about ready! Hope you all are enjoying the prep work for Turkey Day! :)

I love the lantern. I think they both look great, and I love the burlap runners.

Thanks for joining in our blog party. Come back soon. =)

Ahhh...that little lantern is too stinkin' cute! I know what I'm putting in the middle of our round kitchen table now!
