DIY Tufted Headboard

Here's the long-awaited headboard post! It's finally done, and I couldn't be happier!

The fabric is a natural weave heavy-duty upholstery fabric I found for $6/yd. It's so versatile- I love it.

I'm also super glad I decided to go with as many tufts as I did- it really adds drama & makes it look more professional. Tufting isn't always easy- especially when you use two layers of foam + batting + fabric. But.. it's always worth it.

So.. the question is.. {and, it may be a dumb one} .. do you guys want a tutorial post? I took photos along the way in case, but there are other tutorials out there on how to make a headboard. I guess the biggest difference with this one would be how thick & sturdy I built it.. this isn't the type of headboard you'd mount on the wall.. it's supported by 2x4 braces & bolted to our bed frame. Anyway.. just leave me a comment if you're interested in the how-to.

Wow! You really did a fabulous job on that headboard. It looks like someone you'd purchase from the store. Very inspiring DIY project! :)

Thanks Ladies! I apologize for the horrible photos- the lighting is terrible in a basement apartment! :)

I love it! Where did you get the floral print pillow fabric? It really ties everything together nicely and I've been looking for a fabric with those same colors.
