I Believe In Miracles

Zane came through his third grafting surgery tonight. It took them less than 2 hours (sorry for the late post!)- which is less than they thought! They did all of the grafting on his left arm and actually didn't have to debride as much of the skin as they thought because there was some healing on it's own. They did the grafting on his abdomen as well. They only had to take skin from his left thigh, and didn't even touch the lower half of his leg- which is awesome! They took a look at his back and are thinking they won't have to do any grafting on the left side. They're a little on the fence about the right side though- the burn was quite a bit deeper. We are all praying that they won't have to do ANY grafting on his back, as it'll be the hardest area to heal since he'll be laying on his back.

He's been breathing so well & his lungs are doing so much better that they might not even have to do the tracheotomy on Friday!! This time next week he could be breathing without vent support at all. Praise. God. His fever is back down and his vitals are all strong. We bought an ipod dock w/ speakers this morning and brought it into his room tonight. Now, he can listen to praise songs while he rests. The nurses are even enjoying it!

I really don't know how someone could go through something like this and not believe in God and miracles. God has been doing SO much for us & is taking care of Zane in amazing ways. Not only did our Savior die for us, but he saved my husband. We are forever indebted to Him & will tell our story until the day we die.

Courtney,

You both have such an amazing story! I am so glad that God has given it to you. I know it is a story that will be told forever and not just about Zane, but about God. We know none of this was a suprise to him and he knows exactly what is going on and he is the one to be praised.

Tonight at youth we sang the song "Glory to God" by Steve Fee and all I could think about was what he has brought this family through and all he has brought you and Zane through. We serve a loving and miraculous God.

We shouldn't be surprised by anything that God has done to help in Zane's healing..but we are human and find these things simply remarkable! Praying for the Dr's, nurses, healing and comfort! ~Sherri~

Hi Courtney, what a beautiful posting you have this morning. I am so thankful to the Lord for more answered prayer. As I read your posting, I had just finished reading Psalm 34, and Psalm 34:1:1-3 says, "I wil bless the Lord at all time; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. 2)My soul shall make its boast to the Lord; the humble shall hear it and rejoice. 3) O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together."

That is exactly what I also read in reading your writings this morning. God is using you and this situation greatly. He is a mighty God who is carrying you Zane through this trial. So happy to hear that he is breathing well on his own and that the surgery was less invasive than they thought. Will continue to pray about his back that the Lord allow more healing on it's own. You are a great witness for many and it will prove to be fruitful to many. Praying that Zane has a comfortable day. God bless you and have a restful day in our Lord. I can not wait to update those who are praying for all of you, including the doctors......Lorraine (Maine)

I hope you both continue to see God's work in Zane's healing and that it goes as quickly and smoothly as possible! You'll be in my prayers as well.

Praise God! This has made me realize that there truly is a reason for everything, and while at times it may not seem, he orchestrates and uses us in ways we never could have imagined. Thank you for continuing to share your story, it has made me look at my life oh, so differently.
