Through Surgery #1

Zane's first surgery seems to be a success! He made it through with no complications, and his vitals are still strong. They were able to graft some of his own skin (from the legs) onto his neck and upper chest- which is amazing! They didn't even think they would be able to do grafting from his own skin until Friday. But, because he was so stable, they were able to do that- praise God! They also excised skin on his arms and replaced it with cadaver skin. They will continue with more surgery on the rest of his torso on Friday. Zane is strong, and our God is stronger! We have an amazing international (yes, we have received word from people all over the world) network of friends, family, and supporters, and we treasure you all. Thank you so much.

Dear Zane, Courtney and family,
The employees and management of
Dead River Company have you in our thoughts and prayers. Zane was not only a wonderful coworker and employee, but a fine person all around, and we miss him here at the office. Please know that we are thinking of you and want to help out in some small way. We will be sending you some gas cards as I know you and your family will likely be traveling to Boston frequently during these next few weeks, and we thought you could use them. I will send them to the address you have listed at the hospital so please look for them in the mail there.

Best wishes to all of you during this trying time. Zane's a tough guy and I'm confident he's going to be good as new very soon.
