Waiting

Things are still the same with Zane. All vitals remain stable, no new infections, still dealing with fevers. Tonight when we went in, his fever was at 101, but that was the highest it had been all day. He got his hair washed and teeth brushed today- his nurse joked that he was their "sleeping beauty". I'm sure he'll appreciate hearing that when he wakes up. :) His nurses are working hard lately- the skin growing in needs special attention to minimize scarring. The staff at Brigham's works phenomenally hard- burn patients require a lot of TLC. We are SO thankful for their meticulous care of Zane.

Tomorrow they'll be checking his grafts & trying to gauge when they'll be able to start lightening up his meds. We've been warned that when they start going down on the meds and waking him up that he'll go through periods of confusion and agitation as we got a taste of last week. We're hoping that he'll be more alert and clear-minded by next weekend when his parents and grandparents fly in.

Just a little note for those of you who may be in the Boston area- You really should check out the Halfway Cafe if there is one near you! We have close family friends that own and manage the 7 locations in the greater Boston area & we've had the privilege of having a few meals from their amazing menu. Twice they've brought us in catered dishes to the hospital, and last night we got to go out to one of their locations. The prices are fantastic and the food is even better! Check out their website here.

We are so very blessed & we can't wait to start feeding Zane some of the great food Boston has to offer!

Hi Courtney, Continually praying for those stubborn fevers. Praying that they will be able to find out what the cause is. Praying for a good assessment on Zane's grafts and healing today. You have been through so much and are so amazingly strong. I know leaning on the Lord is the reason, and He is using you mightily. You are an amazing woman and Zane will be so proud of you!! I will pray that by the time his family comes to visit that they will be able to converse with him. I am sure you are looking forward to that, too. Keep the focus........and have a great day in the Lord. HUGS! Lorraine(ME)

It's good to hear positive reports! It's almost like re-living our time as we waited for my son to heal from his burns. Keeping you and Zane in my prayers.

Thrilled to hear the progress! I am so glad you have been able to share with the nurses that it isn't Zane healing himself, but God healing him! We love you guys and are praying unconditionally for you and Zane and the healing of his body. God is a great God and can do so much. I have been reminded so much over the last couple weeks how much God loves us!
