Leaning Tower of....

...Fabric! I have been spending a lot of my free moments lately working on what may prove to be an absolutely crazy idea. More details to come.. but here is a snapshot of the progress...

That's 64 squares of fabric that have been measured, cut, traced with a simple pattern, stitched, twisted, and secured into a cute little pucker.

Can you say loonnnggg proocesssss?? :) My poor needle even felt the heat:

Edited to answer a few questions:
  • The expedit bookshelf is slightly off-white. I worried about this a little as our trim is bright white as well as all my storage boxes. However, once I got it in our space, it's not enough of a difference to really notice.
  • The rug in our office space is the Adalusia rug from West Elm. More details on that and a few other Boston finds soon.

Oh wow, I'm really curious to see what this is! Hey I linked to you in my blog post today. I wrote about wrapping things in jute and I came across a vase you did (back in 2009!!) I thought it was really pretty how you staggered the jute to let the vase show through. Anyway here's the post. Thanks for inspiring!
